This client had never had a website before, so I was starting with a clean slate from a design stand point. When I first met with Kyle wanted to find out more about him, his clients, and what he wanted to accomplish with his site, his main goals. Once I understood his business goals, I began researching other construction businesses in Utah, specifically Utah County to see what design trends they were each using. I created style guides to better organized each sites info such as what fonts and colors are being used as well as screenshots from the site for quick reference.
My next step was to sketch out designs and get ideas flowing. I sketched out ideas for each page and menu. After that was complete I started making low-fidelity prototypes, gray boxes with filler text. Once I got his approval, I build high-fidelity prototypes, images, color, and writing that will appear in the final design. I designed low and high-fidelity prototypes for desktop and mobile.
I got Kyle's approval for the prototypes and began working on the actual site in Wix. Once that was completed we looked over and finalized everything for launch. He was very pleased with the final result.Check out Coombs Construction!
