Project Overview
Kyle Coombs, of Coombs Construction, had never had a website before, so I was starting with a clean slate from a design standpoint. He wanted a site that reflected his business, appealed to his clients, and clearly communicated his services.
Process
When we first met, I focused on learning about Kyle, his clients, and his main goals for the site. After understanding his objectives, I researched other construction businesses in Utah, specifically Utah County, to identify design trends. I created style guides to organize site information, including fonts, colors, and screenshots for quick reference.
Next, I sketched out design ideas for each page and the menu. I then created low-fidelity prototypes using grey boxes and placeholder text to review layout and content flow. After Kyle approved the low-fidelity prototypes, I developed high-fidelity versions with images, color, and copy that would appear in the final design, designing for both desktop and mobile.Once the prototypes were approved, I built the website in Wix, and after completion, we reviewed the site together and finalized it for launch.
Outcome
Kyle was very pleased with the final result. The Coombs Construction website now provides a professional online presence, showcases his services clearly, and delivers a smooth user experience for potential clients.
