Project Overview

I had known about Fat Jack’s Pizza for years, but I realized they didn’t have a website when a friend tried to look them up online to place an order. I reached out and offered to design a site to give their business an online presence. Within a few hours, the owner responded, and we scheduled a meeting to get started.

Process

After meeting with the owner, I gathered the information I needed about the business and began researching other pizza websites — from local shops to national franchises like Little Caesars and Pizza Hut. I analyzed layout, color, fonts, and structure to identify common design trends.

I then sketched out ideas tailored specifically for Fat Jack’s, aiming for a simple and visually appealing design. Using Figma, I created a low-fidelity prototype to show the intended layout. One key improvement I focused on was pricing visibility, since many sites require customers to start an order just to see prices.

Once the low-fidelity prototype was approved, I built the high-fidelity version, incorporating the owner’s photos, pricing, and menu. After final approval, I built the live site in Wix, ensuring it remained clean, user-friendly, and visually appealing.

Outcome

Fat Jack's Pizza is now live online! A few days after launch, I even drove past the shop and saw that they had written the new website on their front window with a window marker — a fun reminder of the impact the site has on their business.
