I had the opportunity with a couple of other students in my program to design a website for a man in Salt Lake County who owns various birds for shows, weddings, commercials, and in some cases TV and Film. We met with him and got to understand his main clients, as well as needs and pain points for his business. Not to mention we got to see and hold some of his birds! Now that we knew his business details, we began by building some color pallets we thought might fit our site. We chose earthy colors such as blue, brown, and greens as well as more sky colors like blue and yellow.
We had created some low-fidelity wireframes and mockups in Figma. Once we were satisfied with our designs we began working in WIx. Only one member of our group had worked in Wix before. He decided to take the lead on some of the more difficult things while we took the more simple parts. One section I made was the FAQ’s.
The site is divided up into 6 sections: Nick - the owner, Meet the Birds, What we do, FAQs, Testimonials from past clients, and finally Scheduling a Presentation and Contact.
Long Wing Inc. was a fun project to work on, It was great to get some real world experience working with a client and his business.
