Tumult Hype
This iBook was originally made for iPad and has since been taken off of the store. I had to scale it to fit a Macbook Pro screen. For this project we chose the topic of Photosynthesis. One member of our group came up with that idea. At first, I was hesitant but after hearing his pitch, I was on board. We all researched and took notes of what level of depth we wanted to go into as well as what age group. Eventually we all decided to make our book for Junior High-aged kids, not too in-depth, but more difficult than it would be for younger kids.
After we had gathered most of our information, we all sketched out ideas for how the different pages and sections should look, One member of our group thought it would be fun to start outside the leaf with sunlight and oxygen hitting the leaves followed by diving into the various parts of the leaf and the processes that make photosynthesis work.

One aim of ours was to make it a seamless experience and be as immersive as possible. We designed the pages to line up perfectly as the reader transitions from one page to the next helping aid in the immersive experience. The image on the left shows the transition between two pages.
We wanted to make an interactive widget in Hype of the parts of the plant cell. I was given the task of animating half the cell parts and the third member of our group would animate the other half and put both sets of animations together.

The bulk of this assignment for me was animating parts of the plant cell as well as writing and placing the various pop-ups throughout the book. This was a great group project plus I got to get reacquainted with the photosynthesis process.
